Glimpse

My parents were crunchy granola hippies so we grew up without a video game console:P The Final Fantasy series were always this achingly lovely but utterly inaccessible realm of pop culture that belonged to far cooler children than I. I am now a grown ass adult however and, though I haven’t played any game since Pikmin, I realized I could watch the full compilation as a movie!! I didn’t entirely imagine there would be much behind the eye candy, but boy was I wrong. The complexity of the characters, the sheer and daunting pathos of their struggles, the wide and storied world, and the intricate, painstaking craftsmanship behind the emerging mystery, are all elements that invigorate me as a creator. Looking back upon the polygons of the original and seeing the lush, bustling, layered experience brought forth from them is awe inspiring, and feel so tremendously heartwarmed for those who’ve waited half their lifetimes to revisit it in all its new dimensions. The relationship in this image spoke to me above all else though, and I couldn’t help but pick up my brush:>
