Sirens in Ether

I painted this little picture almost a decade ago, and at the time considered it a failure:P I wasn't able to blend the oils and gold leaf the way I'd hoped to. And yet, year and and year out it's proven to be one of the pictures I've watched bring the most joy, and that gladdens my heart! I keep this piece as a reminder to myself as an artisan not to get too lost in the medium or the pixels, and recall that art is a vocation of pleasure.
